guxʷdema: universe: eagle nebula
these pieces are inspired by actual NASA imagery of the Eagle Nebula, also known as Messier 16, M16, or Star Queen Nebula. the nebula contains several active star-forming regions and lies in the Sagittarius Arm of the Milky Way. it is estimated to be 1-2 million years old, and is approx 5700 light years away (info taken from Wikipedia).
i am inspired by the Haisla word guxʷdema which ive seen translated as universe but also world in my word resource lists. i love thinking about what my Ancestors meant when they used this word. i imagine maybe it meant everything outside ourselves, everything out there, everything around us.
these are inspired by the colours of the Eagle Nebula, they are made with beautiful czech beads and contain faceted peridot crystal, faceted pink glass crystal, and micro faceted yellow jade for joy, optimism and abundance.

each piece is smudged before mailing, to cleanse them and get them ready for their next journey.
